Roy Collett was kicked by a horse at the George Murdoch ranch breaking his left leg between the knee and ankle with bones protruding. He was taken to town, treated by Dr. Madera, and to Montpelier for Dr. Gertner to set the fracture. His sister-in-law Mrs. Olson was advised the wound could risk infection and amputation, but doctors expect no such outcome as he rests comfortably.

Shipping From Cokeville Livestock Exports See Mixed Grades
The Cokeville movement of livestock to eastern markets continues near normal tonnage with heavier shipments expected next week. Since August 13 through September 11, 71 carloads of sheep and 28 carloads of cattle have been shipped, with about 20 percent of sheep fit for killing and nearly all cattle feeders. Lambs are lighter than usual by about 10 pounds, and future sheep will be higher killers trained from reserve range. Agent Harryman has orders for 78 stock cars through the 15th, likely dropping to 45 with at least one heavy shipper canceling empties.

Dying Sheepherder Carried 30 Miles On Saddle Route
Jake Lesser, a Bennion Bros. sheepherder, died on the trail from acute stomach trouble while en route to Montpelier for care. Roland Bennion and Joe Clark improvised a saddle-strap stretcher, carrying him 30 miles until halfway to the starting point near Smoot. The body was embalmed in Montpelier and shipped to Salt Lake for burial. he leaves a wife and two sons who later joined the funeral procession.
