Man Found Dead on Tracks Near Sage
Last Sunday at 7 30 a.m. a mangled body was found on the railroad tracks two miles east of Sage by Fred Keen. The unidentified man, later identified as Salvia Brooks formerly a Beckwith section man, had both feet severed and severe injuries. Coroner's office notified in Kemmerer.

Soldier Manford Hayes Died Sudden at Kemmerer
Private Manford W. Hayes of Company H died suddenly Wednesday morning after breakfast. He had been missing for days, returned nervous, then collapsed from convulsions before aid arrived. Hayes, a Manila Utah native, enlisted May 17, and Captain Waugh investigated liquor sales to soldiers leading to a federal arrest. The accused will face Commissioner Christmas, likely severe punishment.

Enlistment Open After Registration Despite Draft Timing
Many young men misunderstand that enlistment remains possible after registering. Company H still has room for about twenty recruits who wish to enlist and stay with local peers. Enlistments will stay open until the draft selection date is set, after which enlistment becomes impossible.
Company H to battle Cokeville in Saturday ball game
Arrangements with Captain H H Waugh of Company H Kemmerer set a Saturday visit to Cokeville. A ball game between Company H members and the Cokeville team will start at 1 pm followed by a townwide observance. Red Cross workers urge business closures to allow employees to attend and show local support.
