The J. C. Kinney wool clip of 43,000 pounds sold to Hallowell, Jones and Donald. Charlie Pruitt acted as representative for the firm. Price paid was 28 cents per pound, amid belief it is the largest single-claim wool sale by one firm in the western region.
Walter Smalley spent several hours last Tuesday in Smiths Fork near Hoskins ranch north of Cokeville. He landed a 19 inch mountain trout weighing three and a half pounds. The fish was weighed in the evening and likely exceeded four pounds when first pulled from the water.
Mrs. Charles Peters and son Donald visited Montpelier for ten days. A Blickfelt left May ranch for Butte. John Reed bought farm implements in town. George Hewitt adds to his cement block house occupied by the Chamberlain family. Several locals enjoyed a Sunday at Ideal beach. Ernest Smith and family moved from Kemmerer toward Salt Canyon to oversee sheep. Harry Crane head to Montpelier and Star Valley for business. For sale are four room house with water and 43 adjoining lots. Mr and Mrs P W Olson spent weekend in Kemmerer for business and dental work. Herman Sandburg from Green River visited Cokeville. Mr and Mrs George K Murdoch and friends head to Star Valley for Afton celebration and sheep duties.
The state land office has issued patents covering about 10 000 acres selected by ranchers for sale across the state. Sales will occur in the next two months with a minimum price of $10 per acre, promising over $100 000 to funds credited for the lands. Most lands patented lie in Sheridan and Lincoln counties.
Money raised last Thursday at the J D Noblitt residence by the Dorcas Society will fund church improvements. Funds will repaint the Presbyterian church interior, buy carpet for the pulpit and new matting for the aisles.
The five reel Famous Players feature Such a Little Queen will be shown Wednesday July 28 in the Opera House with Mary Pickford in the leading role. The production is described as brilliant and novel.

Willard Bell of Kemmerer toured Cokeville on Thursday as a business visitor. Miss Inez Benson remained home confined for several days earlier in the week due to a mild tonsillitis. Miss Genevieve Bourne of Salt Lake and Miss Margaret Bourne of Pocatello stayed several days at the John Bourne home.
Jesse Goodfellow, a leading wool buyer in Lincoln county, reports over one million pounds bought this season with more than two million pounds credited. Prices ranged from 20 to 28 cents a pound as he credits the European war and embargoes for good prices, noting tariffs could have raised or fallen prices significantly.
A Scotch Mazurka cow belonging to P. W. Olson was struck by train No. 6 last Saturday afternoon while crossing the tracks south of Cokeville. The lame calf’s pen separation led to the escape and fatal impact, the engineer unable to stop in time. valued at about $400.

The Citizenship League held two lawn parties at the homes of Mrs J H Stoner and Mrs J D Noblitt. Both events provided enjoyable amusement for the young attendees.
Earl Haggerty and family and Miss Gertrude Vibrans with J. D. Noblitt and family and Miss Brown went to Ideal Beach for a dance last Saturday evening. Sunday they met Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Olson and son Leslie and Fred Chapin of Kemmerer. they attended a ball game in Montpelier and then moved on to Hot Springs where the Haggerty and Noblitt parties spent the night before Mr. Olson and family returned to Cokeville.
Noah and the local fire unit battled a dry street flare up Tuesday evening and after finishing they turned the scene into a display and an amusement. The next day the department wore clean suits, and only a musk rat remained as a reminder of the gone street cleanup.
Afton sees a large contingent of Cokeville residents depart yesterday for a community celebration. Some travelers plan to leave today as well. The town hopes to showcase its best efforts this year and anticipates an excellent celebration.

Curtis of Kemmerer advertises watches repaired and Cokeville Merc Co handles repairs. George Bourne Claus Kreuger and Edward O Conners left Monday for Lake Alice for a few days fishing. Marie Jacobsen of Salt Lake City arrived Thursday for a weeks stay with relatives in Cokeville. Liquor, mixed drinks and soft drinks are served at the bar. Boomer Fuller note a special train carrying horses and cowboys passed through Cokeville to Cheyenne Frontier celebration. Port Wine sixteen years old offered at a snap price of fifty cents a bottle. Wyoming Club member George Birch of Montpelier, brother of Clarence Birch, drowned while swimming in Bear River last Wednesday. cause not learned. Mr and Mrs Edward Marks and daughter Melba arrived from Salt Lake, joined by Mrs J M Porgott, for ten days. They plan to go to Afton for several days.
