Mr Jack Cook and three Cook brothers and his son endured a string of accidents from February to June. Jack Cook injured his hand on a circular saw, brother Ross fractured four ribs loading logs, brother Herb crushed a finger, and Bill Cook lost finger joints in a truck wheel incident. A later wedge accident blinded Bill’s right eye and required flight to Sydney for treatment.

District Ambulance Committee Hears Coffs Harbour Appeal Update

Carrier Charged Sugar in Possession at Taree Court
Clyde Allan Cheers of Tuncurry was fined 10 pounds for possession of a sugar bag property of the Railway Commissioner suspected of theft. He also paid 20 pounds and 5 pounds costs for receiving 1s beer bottles from the same consignor thought stolen. The beer came from Sydney to Nambucca Heads in January. Judge E J Gibson noted potential jail time but gave fines.
