Crown subdivisions spark council access dispute

At the monthly Urban Committee meeting in Coffs Harbour the government’s handling of Crown subdivisions was critiqued as Shire Councils face compulsory street work. C Thistleton sought access to his Glenreagh street block and argued for needed sanitary access. Shire Engineer F J Dodd noted private subdivision standards do not apply to Crown plots, leaving streets a hardship funded by scant council resources. The committee urged the Council to seek Lands Department funds to provide access at Glenreagh.
