A large gathering at the School of Arts in Coffs Harbour bid farewell to Sgt and Mrs Purkiss on the eve of their Kempsey departure. The Chamber of Commerce organized the event with tributes to Sgt Purkiss for his two years as officer in charge, his relief work during floods, and community efforts.
