Farmers Vehicles Seek Reduced Registration Rates

Violet Town moved to amend the act to cut to a nominal fee the registration for tractors used for carting farm machinery on roads. J Gemmell noted producers cannot register two goods carrying vehicles or non cars at primary producers’ rate. He moved that Chief Secretary Bailey be approached to restore provisions allowing all farmers motor vehicles to be registered at reduced rates.

Obituary for Cyril T R White a Cobram native aged 92

Cyril T R White died suddenly on a Tuessy afternoon at Dr Kennedy's surgery aged 92. He was second son of the late Mr and Mrs W White and a Cobram native who ran the Criterion Cafe since 1932. He supported local bodies including the Agricultural Society Football Club Methodist Church Choral Society and Comforts Fund. Remains interred Cobham Cemetery on Wednesday. Sympathies extended to Mrs White.

Vilas known as Mr Jack Quik of Cobram enlisted in the A LF. Sister Rockliffe, from Lisieux Hospital Cobram, left to join VAD duties. Mr Ed ward Alexander Graham, 74, a Wanghau local, died at Numurkah last Tuesday. Mr Bob Ryan of Finley, 31, a famed Murray League full back and cricketer, died after a short illness.
