At the September meeting Dr Alan Lawrence of Youatmite was unanimously chosen president for the next year. Retiring chair Dr W Lonie thanked the council and urged continued cooperation. New councillors Crs Batey and J F Browning welcomed along with congratulated returnees. The president's allowance was set at £100 with £30 contingency.

The Cobram District Hospital secretary wrote to the council meeting stating the management committee was perturbed by the council’s decision not to install a light in O Dwyer Avenue near the nurses’ home and requested reconsideration. Dr Jordan noted the current street lights give insufficient illumination near the nurses’ home and urged an additional light. he criticized the lack of action from the committee president. He moved that an application be made to the S E C to install the light in O Dwyer Avenue.

Bacon prices eased about 10 shillings from last market while porkers held firm. stores sold well though cheaper than last month. Quoted prices cover good to heavy bacon and various weights, with calves showing strong ranges for heavy and light categories.
