A large gathering at the fire station honored Miss Lola Harris on the eve of her marriage to Mr. Les Moor of Cobram. Guests enjoyed games, dancing, solo performances by Miss Pat Millerick and Miss Mary Cassidy, music by Mrs. H. West, and a supper. Rev. R. A. Dunkley presented a silver cake dish from Cobram Scots Church members. Mr. Moor thanked attendees and invited visits to the future home. Opening Tennis Season at Barooga Sees Record Nominations
Delightful weather opened the Barooga tennis season with a record eighty nominations from Cobram and district. Eighty matches were played across four courts as R Sams and I Vickers defeated E McKinley and W Gillespie in men's doubles 6 3 and Mrs Day with Mrs Hallorand beat Mrs Hutchins and Mrs Gillespie 6 4 in ladies doubles. Afternoon tea served to over 100 visitors as Barooga thanks supporters for their discreet help in a successful opening event.
