Cobram Show Sees Record Entries and Expanded Attractions
Record entries pour in for the 1951 Cobram Agricultural Society Show with a larger lineup of sideshows and trade stands. The Department of Agriculture Row Show exhibit, rare for the north, travels from another town and draws inspection. Baby born minutes after mother's death in Gary
A premature baby girl was delivered by Caesarean in Gary Indiana just one minute after her mother died from infantile paralysis. Dr H M Ballinger stated the infant two months premature has a reasonable chance of survival. The mother Mrs Bernace Heraldson, 27, had been in an iron lung the prior day. Internationally famous Bodenweiser Modern Ballet scheduled Mechanics Hall Oct 27 with Dutneall's tickets.

Fatal Motorcycle Car Collision Near Finley
A head on crash on the Tocumwal Finley road last Tuesday killed motorcycle rider William Olds Tonkin and injured car driver Ronald Clayton of Finley. Tonkin died instantly after his bike struck the car windscreen about 24 miles from Finley. Clayton was admitted to Finley Hospital with shock. An inquest will be held by Finley district coroner K A Edwards on a date to be fixed.

Ambulance Crew Logs Strenuous Weekend Travel
Shepparton ambulance men covered 1140 miles over the weekend with trips from Cobram Numurkah and Shepparton to Melbourne. A premature baby was transported from Numurkah to Melbourne in an oxygen crib. Twelve transport cases were handled, with no weekend accidents at the station.
