Boomanoomana Bush Fire Brigade responded to a Thursday blaze on Mr. George Gordon's property while he cut hay. The fire scorched about ten acres of hay and clover before firefighters contained it.
The afternoon bowling event yielded three champions: Mrs. Harden, Mrs. White, and Mrs. Bourke. They triumphed in the associates’ competition held on Tuesday afternoon.
St Margarets Church of England in Advent Sunday services 8 a.m. Holy Communion 11 a.m. Sunday School and 7.30 p.m. Evensong led by Rector Colin G Burgess.

Cobram easily chased down Finley after Cobram scored 142 in their first innings. Finley bowled out for 94, with Davies taking 8 of 9 in Finley’s innings. Cobram declared at 3 for 75 in their second, led by Hanna 32 and Jones 8, while Koschell and Davies shared strong bowling figures.
Barooga extended its winning run over Strathmerton on Saturday with strong all round play. Newcomer Dugall impressed with three wickets for eight runs and J Cornish kept the stumps spotless. Pat Copley and Clive Smith top scored with 82 in a sixth wicket stand, while Coldwell and Danaher led the bowling with 6 and 5 wickets respectively as Barooga won on first innings.
Last Saturday Cobram Blues drew 103 all with Numurkah in a pennant clash. Cobram Golds beat Echuca 108 to 95 at home. Next Saturday Blues host Shepparton with listed lineups for men and ladies. A Sunday mixed doubles tournament drew 60 players, won by J Cassidy and Miss L Grant.
Cobram Cycle Club hosts Shepparton Professional Club riders at the showgrounds track next Sunday afternoon. A Kevin Comer trophy leads the main event. Shadforth unlikely to race again this season after five continuous years. First event 2.30 p.m. with junior races following.
The Methodist Parsonage at Cobram will be opened on Friday December 4 at 7.20 p.m. President of the Methodist Conference Rev H Clamnette will attend. Rev W K Bartlett the new minister arrives December 2. A large crowd is expected.
