A critical editorial blasts the Federal Parliamentary Labor Party plan to pay retiring and defeated MPs a pension of eight pounds weekly. The piece argues MPs already earn high salaries and benefits while veterans and widows face hardship, urging MPs to reassess their perceived worth.
Under ideal weather Cobram Cycle Club held a half mile and a two mile handicap. Winners were: Half-Mile Allen 45 yards, 1 minute 33 1 10 seconds. Two-Mile Shadforth 100 yards, Allen 100 yards second, Maslin 150 yards. Gerald Steward fell in the 2 mile but escaped injury.
