The Federal Treasurer Mr J B Chifley urges employers who normally give staff presents to instead provide War Savings Certificates or Stamps. Special facilities now exist for the public to gift War Savings Certificates and Stamps at Christmas with post offices supplied with War Savings Stamp Folders gift envelopes and greeting cards to accompany presents.
Ac a well known resident of Cobram in Mrs Steer ix shortly to lee on trip to South Australia Lieut W Bethune attached to the headquarters of 5769 Bat tallion has been promoted to captain. At a social evening at Nar x Aircraftman WN Cock was greeted with a wallet. Various peers referred to the guest of the evening and his enlistment action. Private F Thomas of the Australian Tropical Force on leave was presented with a fountain pen and pencil at Methodist Church entry.
