Numurkah Hosts Methodist Synod Meeting Highlights
The Goulburn Valley District Synod met in Numurkah November 3 and 4. Rev. G. D. Brimacombe presided. Rev. R Morris elected secretary. Ministers named for new appointments included F Blyth Nathalia R Morris Kyabram O Muller Wunghnu and A Lock Alexander. The synod rejected a single large circuit plan and favored a Cobram under Katamatite supervision with adjusted northern boundaries. An Endowment Fund proposal funded by fire Guarantee and minister contributions was discussed. Evangelism needs were noted amid local difficulties, with calls for interdenominational cooperation echoed by Dr. Hammond Rev. Rose and Rev. Lawson. The Tuesday night gathering drew a young crowd.
