Rationing Commission Adjusts Butter and Tea Coupons
With a three week final ration period replacing four weeks the food ration card coupons gain value. Each person receives two extra ounces of butter per week and two extra ounces of tea for the period. Butter coupons may be sent to Red Cross Box XYZ G.P.O. Bagelopes post free and six meat coupons are available across the period, totaling six of seven normally allotted.

Council advances swamp works and road gravelling plans
Shire of Shepparton advises council to fund about 25 chains of farming and gravelling on the east west boundary road between Chessells and Ballentine at an estimated cost of £90. Work to be completed as soon as practicable. Also a water trust discussion on Moodie’s Swamp preservation for year round game habitat. A water trust meeting is to consider the issue.

The meeting approved notices for no camping at sale yards in Katamatite and along Duddee Street. It authorized re-sheeting on the Marionvale to Pine Lodge North road and summer repairs to a wooden culvert near Maidment and Maid Lakies. It also ordered loam removal from a table drain, road improvements one mile south of the railway, grading and gravelling on Koonoomoo Road, and minor works near F Church and Almon’s boundary.
