Cobram Young Farmers Hold Success in Tennis Tourney
Cobram Young Farmers' Club ran a hurry-scurry tennis tournament at Muckatah with Bill Jones winning the men's trophy donated by R Dahlenburg and Mrs Hickey of Katandra taking the ladies' trophy. Pat Parnell was named to join three other Victorian Young Farmers to represent the state at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. The club will hold a debate in Shire Hall on Monday night open to the public. The Cobram trio for the event will include K Napier T Kennedy P Parnell D Webster C Watson M Scott and R Ritchie. Ken Napier Pat Scott and Ron Ritchie will attend the Young Farmers' quarterly conference in Melbourne tomorrow.

Grader No 2 arrived Feb 24 and works on Cobram Koonoomoo road with medium maintenance. Roads cleaned of drains and culverts to improve winter readiness. Naring parish grading and gravel patches show improvement with prospects for more all weather outlets. Eddy's Doad West boundary sees culvert collapse filled and minor pat ching planned to restore road quality.
