Cobram 100 Finish To Be In High Street Appeal

Cobram Shire Council granted permission for the Cobram 100 cycle race finish in High street August 8. A scroll of merit will be presented to the winner, unique in Australian cycling history, and the Cen tenary road race will pass Katamatite Cobram and Strathmerton. Rates on Cobram Recreation Reserve Considered

In Cobram Shire Council minutes Mr. W R Denson urged waiving rates on Cobram Recreation Reserve due to no revenue from the ground. The acting secretary said rates must be collected first, then a donation could be considered. Dr Jordan noted little use and funds reinvested in fencing. trustees were asked to pay rates with a possible later donation.

Traffic cases heard at Cobram Court yesterday

Frederick Lee was fined £2 in default distress for driving a truck with an expired registration label. George Steward pleaded guilty to driving without a licence and was fined £1 after explaining a nervous breakdown. Alan Parkeridge was fined £2 in default distress for leaving a vehicle in a dark street without a tail light. Senior Constable Harding noted the car’s dangerous position.
