On Sunday January 21 1951 services include Cobram Evensong at 7 30 am and 8 am H C at Cobram 10 am Katamatite 17 30 pm Cobram farewell sermon followed by annual meeting.
The Cobram Courier reports on the Royal Australasian College of Physicians push for a special medical committee to oversee cortisone distribution. Federal Health Minister Sir Earle Page backs the potential of cortisone, while the public welcomes relief for sufferers but fears high costs. It argues cortisone should be available to all in need and admitted duty free, with access limited only by severity and location during shortages.
Members of the Cobram RSL branch entertained Miss Lesley Wyatt and her committee at the RSL Club Rooms on Saturday night with about thirty in attendance. Speakers praised the committee for its hospital contributions and noted the group had raised 800 in a short time.

In Cobram Court of Petty Sessions Gregory presided as Thomas James faced charges of drunkenness and disorderly conduct. He received three days in prison for the first charge and seven days or £3 for the second. Arthur Cadby was fined and given terms, with penalties totaling days in custody. Both men are to be sent to Melbourne to serve their sentences.
A ten year old girl Cecile Joshua of Ballarat broke her neck diving into the river at Shepparton last Thursday. She remains at Canberra House after admission to Moorlands Hospital in a satisfactory condition. Her parents, holidaying in Queensland, have not been contacted. Officials at Canberra House report no contact yet.
An An Quyen farmer T H Willis suggested hand grenades could be rolled into rabbit burrows to collapse warrens and kill rabbits. In the Ouyen district six dairy farmers described rabbit numbers as worse than ever, urging a continuous year round drive and cheaper digging hooks adaptable to tractors to remove burrows.
Darling River graziers facing floods lose access to their shearing sheds. Neighbors lend space where possible as producers plan earlier than usual due to stressed sheep from drought and a harsh season. Some flocks will be shorn with 10 months growth to endure conditions.
In a Country Party meeting at Shepparton, McDonald warned that if war comes rural Australians will be asked to do much more to boost food production. He stressed the need for stepping up farming effort amid looming global tensions.
The federal plan to cover 90 percent of doctors' bills was not discussed at the State and Commonwealth Health Ministers meeting. A Federal Health Department official in Canberra said the scheme would not be ready to operate for some time. The conference mainly addressed how free drugs and hospital subsidies should be paid.
