Local and general notes from Cobram on February 6 report Bush Fire Appeal donations totaling £25 12s. The Barooga Committee urges prompt submission of outstanding contributions. Mr G Goodman sustained a fractured vertebrae when a door in the lor cal packing shed was blown shut by strong wind. The door jammed, he pushed it, and it fell, pinning him briefly. He was taken to Lisieux Hospital then Mooroopna Hospital and shows satisfactory progress. Recovery expected about six months before returning to work.
A local ceremony honored the hero who rescued two innocents during a boating incident near Adrian and Plugwer. The feather medal bore the inscription To Kitch from the Two Innocents, reflecting a mix of gratitude and irony over publicity from the original event.
Members of the No. 23 district of the Returned Soldiers' League and their families gathered at Cobram on Sunday for a grand picnic by the river. The event brought together veterans and kin for a community gathering and sharing in a seaside setting.

Nathalia won by nine points in a bowling match with Nathalia leading 70 to Cobremal. Rink scores show McFarlane down 20 on Bruton's, Dana up 6 on McDouell's, and Grant up 6 on Morris'. Final tally includes Stratos, Goulding, McKenzie and others on both sides.

A motion supported Cobram taking over Barooga as a B and eighteen team. 10 shillings was donated to the Bush Fire Appeal, and a housing notice for a recruitment event at Cobram on 33 February was referenced.
At Muckatah the Handicaps dominated the program with six to run in the main event the Muckatah Handicap worth £40 producing a tight finish. Black Sparkle led early but Routemarch surged to neck victory with Darwin and Beaten close behind. The Novice Handicap winner Nelladale impressed a six-horse field as Eastern led the charge before King of Aerie and Tearaway faded. Overall attendance dipped from last year but betting and enclosure upgrades improved the day’s atmosphere under President Jas. Parnell and secretary Jos. Kennedy.
