A series of films of interest to woolgrowers will be shown at the Mechanics Institute in Cobram at 8 p.m. on August 21. The Australian Wool Board's Film Unit invites all growers and others in the industry to attend a motion picture program. The films cover wool fashions and will appeal especially to women. all films are in sound.
Des Bourke, former Cobram resident and brother visitor, rides at Secunderabad amid a string of wins. He captured the Basalat Jah Cup and the R.C.T.C. Cup in a six race card, with other major placings including the Met tur Plate, Governor’s Cup at Ootacamund, and the Chester Plate, bringing his tally to four cup and three plate wins.
