Last week an afternoon in aid of Red Cross Funds was held at the residence of Mrs S Scott with prizes won by Mrs E Coldwell and Miss Parnell. The event raised funds to an extent and supported Red Cross efforts locally.

Cobram Progress Association seeks council approval to install a waste collection service at Cobram at a rate likely over 18 shillings per year. Shire secretary F E Bartlett says Cobram residents should not be left uneasy. Installation could not occur before October due to formalities, with Dr Gemmell noting possible installation at 18 shillings if requirements are met.

A runaway motor cycle outfit, believed driven by mischievous youths, escaped from behind Rev Lonergan's garage on Wednesday. It sped across vacant land and under a railway track before stopping. the boys vanished into the shadows, leaving witnesses startled.
