Boy 16 Arrested in Forgery Ring Tied to Local Merchants
A 16 year old, Francis White, is jailed in Danville after forging checks to defraud Campbell and Son and J F Walton. He used $4.25 and $16.25 amounts, sometimes signing as John Kellum, and cashed them in different towns. He claimed no money on arrest and said he had previously worked for Hadley, receiving checks as payment.

Real Estate Changes in Two Area Farms Sold
The 40 acre Zimri Hunt farm near town sold to Matthew Eggers for 10000 with Hollis Walls to remain and work for Eggers. The 81 acre Louie Buis farm on the gravel road five miles west of Stilesville sold to Ollie Duffey for 13000. Henry Strickner will live in Indianapolis while Duffey moves to the farm in October. both sales handled by C E Wallace and Co.

Coonie Harlan Returns From France War Service

Auto crashes into culvert wall near Bethel and ditch
Mrs. Alyttle Storm's Ford was heavily damaged Sunday night when it struck a culvert retaining wall and ditched near the Amos Fultz farm west of town. The drivers tried to pass a large truck and two front wheels were demolished with a broken windshield. No injuries reported.

An explosion of gasoline during soldering at the Masten and Hudson garage led to a blaze that severely burned Julius Hubble’s face arms and leg. His son Andrel emptied a 15 gallon Ford tank spreading fuel, but a quick response with Pyrene extinguishers and water saved the building and autos from destruction.

Pittsboro Youth Killed by Live Wire at St Wayne
Ernest Veach, a Pittsboro youth, was killed last week when he touched a live wire while working for the Central Union Telephone Company in St Wayne. He had gone to St Wayne the prior week for the job and was buried in Greenlawn Cemetery at Brownsburg.

Tent blows down during church conference at local venue
A large tent used by the Primitive Baptist church conference was torn by a strong wind on Saturday afternoon. Stakes pulled from the ground, the structure blown down and damaged in many places. Members of the local church repaired and re-erected it on Monday.

Mrs Fewel Crews Dies at 69 in Reno Home
Mrs Charity Crews, 69, wife of Fewel Crews, died at her Reno home after a decade long illness. She was a life resident and leaves a husband and several children. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Coatesville Baptist church with burial in the I O O F cemetery.

H G Masten was chosen alternate. Mrs Frank Reed suffered severe injuries Saturday noon when her buggy collided with a large auto truck headed to Indianapolis. She sustained a sprained wrist a badly bruised body and cut hands.
