The Danville paper reports I N Martz moving to town and local teaching appointments. In Danville a pet ground hog owned by Ray Bronk at Marsh Drug Store holds the tribe’s truth and accuracy. Bets rise on whether the animal will emerge February 2 or remain underground amid superstition.
The Commercial Club will meet next Monday evening with Mr. Carlie Milam secretary of the Indiana Public Library commission present to explain plans for securing a public library. Children are expected to attend and the meeting may be held in the two chambers of Chanhe ehub-raoi.
The Waonsans Christian Temperance Union will meet Tuesday, date to be announced, at West Main Street. Mrs. Von Burks will preside and conduct the program. All invited to attend.
Maggie M Hampton Hall wife of J Elmer Hall and mother of Elmer and Leon Hall died December 26 1911 aged 37 years three months and twenty five days. Born August 31 1873 she lived in Bainbridge Amo and Stilesville joining the Christian church and was known as a faithful servant. Funeral services were held December 28 at the Christian church conducted by Rev W R Brown.
The Woodmen’s Carnival opens tonight in Coatesville with Ben Holmes in charge. Shows include Anoia the 20000 dollar educated gorilla, a Texas snake show, Chicago wrestling girls, and free acts by the Lesters Gordon and Gordon. A country store laughs up excitement for all ages while a pickaninnay ball tests skill. Proceeds support the Woodmen lodge. the Coatesville orchestra provides music.
Community notice invites farmers and prospective adopters to meet about a proposed fee on SEL. The informal gathering is set for an afternoon at Essops and Masres Liuupben Co location to discuss the plan and concerns.
Sunday services at M E Church begin with Sunday School at 9 30 am Epworth League at 6 30 pm and preaching at 10 44 am The message urges attendance despite cold weather noting spiritual nourishment is as essential as food and praising God for cold day blessings and warmth of the church house.
Georgia Geneva Evans born February 22 1907 died December 30 1911 at four years ten months and days she left behind a father mother two sisters a brother and many relatives and friends. The family offers faith in Gods plan and comfort in the hope of a future reunion with Geneva in a heavenly home.
The Ladies of the Christian church express gratitude for liberal patronage at the oyster supper held despite bad weather. Receipts were substantial, expenses small, and a noteworthy amount was cleared for church work. They also thank the Pros Lean editor for kindness over the past year.
The Purdue Agricultural Extension Department backs local township institutes as the unit for Farmers Institute work. Following Purdue’s advice from the Purdue Conference, the Clare law enables extending institute work to every township. Local associations must be organized, with Purdue providing constitution forms and guidance on request.

A public sale will be held at the Simon Lisby farm located 24 miles west of Coatesville and 22 miles east of Delmar on Thursday. The Thimble Club met Tuesday afternoon with Mrs Viea Harris as hostess. Few members answered roll call. A contest of girls names amused attendees as Mrs Davis and Carrie Fulte drew straws for first prize, while Mrs Bowen, Mrs Bryant and Mrs Draper drew for the booby prize. Refreshments were served. The club plans to meet January 22 with May Holmes.
