West Clay farmers institute at Methodist church held
The West Clay township farmers institute met at the Methodist church last Saturday with low attendance in both sessions. Officers were re elected, finances sound, and speakers offered practical talks on tile drainage and women in industry. Mr Martindale urged large tile use and explained drainage benefits, while Mrs Stanley discussed women’s industry and home physical culture. Mr Martin due spoke on Thy Farmer’s Cow and Calf, urging efficient calf rearing and seasonal housing. Ralph E. Arnett urged federation membership and the Gambold trio sang in the afternoon.

Oldest Hen dricks County resident dies at 99
Michael Higgins died at his Danville home age 99. He was Hen dricks County’s oldest man and owned 880 acres in Marion township. His grandfather served in the Revolution with Daniel Boone. He recalled revolutionary era soldiers and stories. Survived by five children, all prosperous farmers. Funeral at North Salon Tuesday afternoon with burial there.

Obie Ramsey Dies at Home in New Winchester Area
Obie Ramsey a well known farmer near New Winchester died Friday afternoon after a brief illness of influenza and pneumonia. His wife Mrs Ramsey son Walter and grandson Donald Long had been ill for some time. Funeral services were Sunday afternoon led by Rev Everett Hume of Plainfield and burial followed in Ragan cemetery.

Mrs. Charles Wisehart traveled to Indianapolis on Thursday for the death of her eldest brother Perry E. Smith of Indianapolis. The Smith family attended his funeral in Bainbridge at the Methodist church Saturday afternoon. Burial followed in Bainbridge Cemetery. Cause of death was bronchial pneumonia.

William L Hill aged 74 died at his home near Belle Union from pneumonia on a Saturday night. He leaves six children including Harry Hill and Lillie, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren with a large family and friends mourning. Funeral for Milton Sacra Held in Coatesville
The body of Milton Pete Sacra age 44 who died after an ice accident near Proctor Minnesota was brought to Coatesville for funeral services at the Baptist church and burial in the Odd Fellows cemetery. He had worked thirteen years as a D M N railroad freight conductor and left a wife and one four year old child. He was born locally and known for his jolly disposition and many friendships. He belonged to several railroad unions.

Obituary of Ollie Leachman Passes at Coatesville
Ollie Leachman daughter of James A and Elizabeth Hope was born Feb 141 1571 on the Putnam county farm. She died Feb 16 1920 at home in Coatesville aged 49 years 5 days. She married John Q Leachman March 21 1883 and had two daughters Nellie Hope Leachman survived with husband. father and two brothers Daniel K Hope and Dr Charles Hope. The mother preceded her in death four months earlier. She lived mainly near Coatesville and Danville drawing many friends. She valued home, family, and her daughter above all, cared for the sick, and loved flowers. The tribute by Miss Martha J Ridpath is included. Continued on page two.
