Death of Mrs Lora Wise Harlan
Mrs. Lora Wise Harlan wife of Charley Harlan died of pneumonia on February 15 1917 at age 41 near Coatesville. She passed after weeks of illness and is survived by five children and a grieving husband. The funeral was held at the Baptist church with Rev J K Sherrill officiating. His condition has shown slight improvement.

The library loaned 1315 books and added fifty by purchase. Ralph W. Moss presented 22 volumes of bound congressional records, L. K. Leatherbury donated six volumes of Dickens, plus a juvenile book from Josef Sharp and a volume from M. O. Pence. Two exhibits came from the Library Art Club Historic Indiana drawn praise, fifteen Japanese prints landscapes form a notable exhibit.
