Rev. J E Sherrill preached on Running the Race from Hebrews with modern contest analogies and two converts. Rev. C O Smock spoke on The Devil's Gatling Gun warning of the harm a lying tongue causes, citing broken homes and crises. Mrs. Lida Browning Priest of Bainbridge died Sunday and was buried Tuesday at Fillmore after visits with her grandmother in Coatesville. Subscribe for the Hzranp.
A private letter indicates Mr. Fenn plans a Coatesville visit midweek to discuss leasing land for oil. Local landowners show willingness to lease. test wells may be drilled this spring with standard one eighth royalty. Oil activity could boost jobs, demand for goods, and population, drawing investment without cost to landowners.
Jacob Huber, aged 79, longtime resident and baker by trade, died at his daughter Mrs. Darius Masten’s home after a throat illness. He lived in Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Danville, and Coatesville before settling. funeral held at his home with Rev. C. O. Smock officiating. Burial in Danville beside his wife with Civil War veterans as pallbearers.
Judge James A. Collins, longtime Indianapolis police court presiding officer and attorney, will deliver a Sunday lecture titled Pulling Against the Tide at Assembly Hall at 2 30 PM. A special musical program accompanies the talk with congregational singing. admission is free, a silver offering helps cover expenses. John Stout and wife of St. Louis visit their nephew Charles Green and family.
Greencastle high school defeated Coatesville 28 to 22 on the Armory floor in a rough contest marred by 29 fouls. Crump led Coatesville with strong free throws, while Crump and O'Brien starred for Greencastle. Captain Stewart and Hastings excelled for Coatesville in a hard fought game.
The Farmers Institute at Aro lists events for February 12 and 13 including music by the High School Orchestra, vocal solos by Pauline White and Carrie Jackson, talks on education, vocational education, soil fertility, and the farmer's wife. Mr. Will Huber of Chicago attends his father's funeral.
Indiana endured a heavy ice coat and about four inches of snow last Friday and Saturday. Wires trees and shrubs suffered. the interurban and railways faced major disruptions. Sun and warm weather began melting the ice on Sunday and Monday as groundhog signals six more weeks of winter.

The remains of William Wilson, once of Millman neighborhood west of Coatesville, were brought from Indianapolis for burial. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church with Rev. C. O. Smock officiating. Wilson, about 68, was survived by a mother named Minter, an early pioneer of the region.
