Billy Davis born in Worcester County Maryland earned his first dollar at ten by stripping blades for a levey. He later moved to St Louis in 1869 and Danville Indiana in 1870 to work in grain milling and run a store. He partnered with William Haynes, later moved to Coatesville, and now lives retired in Indianapolis at seventy.
