Inmates and officers of the Indiana Boys' school with visitors gathered in the chapel on Thursday for songs and sentiments by the boys and readings of Taft and Governor Marshall proclamations by Superintendent York. The institution band provided music as more than six hundred boys enjoyed a menu of baked rabbit, gravy, mashed potatoes, baked beans, cranberry sauce, cucumber pickles, mince pie, bananas, apples and celery.

Accident in mill leaves man with injured thumb
L A Miller of near Cannan four weeks ago caught his thumb in a worm crusher. The accident is blamed on carelessness and remains unexplained. He could not work as the thumb is severely injured while driving a young horse to the power, a mysterious incident that saved the thumb.

Lost Bank Deposit Case Heads to Settlement
After a week trial the estate seeks recovery of a long forgotten bank deposit of 4446 dollars in RB Thomas's name. The First National of Greenscastle agreed to pay 2000 dollars to settle. Heirs learned of the funds years after the death of Kizeaphas Thomas in Putnam County. Trials spanned three courts and five judges. The bank argued heirs must prove the depositor’s identity. Deposit slips were never found and demand was not until October.
