Soldier to Take Ten Day Furlough In August Visit

He will come directly to Coatesville to visit home folks for the first time since enlisting in April 1917 and promises to share stories upon arrival.

Ice cream social raises funds for Junior Red Cross
The Junior Red Cross girls hosted an ice cream social on the Methodist church lawn Saturday night. They netted 55 dollars with a profit just over half that amount to buy working materials for the society. A quartet including Wm McAninch Ardith Phillips Noble Masten and Roy Lisby performed as lanterns lit the yard and 22 girls in red Cross uniforms served the crowd.
