Sea lions draw battle over Newport Beach docks
Newport Beach harbor staff battle sea lions cluttering docks with improvised barriers. Dana Point Harbor reports 64 incidents since July as 20 resident sea lions chase snacks from bait barges and fishing boats. Dock damage costs run into thousands per incident while boaters seek protective devices and makeshift barriers.
