Clifton and Valley Mills renew their heated series at Cub Stadium Friday night with a 7:00 P.M. kickoff. Valley Mills star fullback Tommy Kimbrough is sidelined with a collapsed lung, boosting Clifton’s chances. County bridge to be replaced with modern concrete span

Neils Creek bridge on the way to Lanes Chapel will be rebuilt as a 264 foot long 24 foot wide concrete structure. Texas Highway Department estimates the cost at 38000 dollars with the full road and bridge contract let to M. E Ruby Acme Bridge Co of Austin for 174278.84 dollars. The new road aims for better specifications and may carry lime traffic.

Clifton Cubs Triumph Over Granbury 14–0 at Cub Stadium

Clifton Cubs hustled to a 14 to 0 win over Granbury at Cub Stadium last Friday. Glenn Murphree sparked the offense with an 81 yard kickoff return and a second quarter touchdown run, while Smoky Kettler added a 62 yard drive score and Clifton’s defense limited Granbury’s attack throughout.

Polled Hereford Show Heads at Central Texas Fair

Fairfield judge Suel Hill will preside over the Central Texas Polled Hereford Association fall show at the Central Texas Fair and Rodeo. The event features 26 classes for bulls and heifers, with 19 breeders listed and 40 head offered at auction Saturday afternoon.

Sunset Home in Clifton will dedicate a newly constructed chapel at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday October 1 to mark its seventh anniversary. Parade Kickoff With Prizes for Clifton Fair Events

The Central Texas Fair and Rodeo in Clifton opens with a Thursday parade at 5:00 PM on downtown streets. Awards include 15 10 and 5 dollars for top floats, a riding club trophy, and 15 for best dressed cowgirl, sponsored by local associations.
