Cubs Show Promise In Win With Ball Handling And Blocking

Clifton High School Cubs routed Iredell Dragons 24 to 0 on a wet field. Cowboys Meet John Tarleton Here Friday

Clifton College Cowboys host John Tarleton in City Park Friday night at 8 15. Tarleton brings about 100 candidates making the matchup tough. Clifton lost to Hillsboro last Thursday in the first meeting since 1942 as Bassinger connected with Carmichael for a early score and Hillsboro added a second touchdown. The Cowboys pressed in the final quarter but stalled on the Hillsboro 25 yard line as time expired.

Poletti-Glass Vows Read In Methodist Church

Miss Mary Ann Glass and Mr Feby John Poletti wed in Clifton at noon in the Methodist Church. Dr Joe Z Towee of Wichita Falls performed the ceremony. Fire Breaks Out at Mill Feed Plant

Fire erupted Monday night at Tejas Millia Com pany feed plant around 11 48 pm. Clifton’s Volunteer Pine Company limited the blaze to the grinding room building and kept damage contained. Fire spread to wooden rafters but water from the new truck likely saved most of the plant and saved equipment. Insurance adjuster to determine exact losses for sweet feed and water damage.

Legion Plans Special Meeting After Weak Attendance

The American Legion held a recent meeting where new year officers were installed with A L Bronstad assisting as installation officer. Attendance was low due to lack of funds and housing, as veterans and families urge support and a new club house to honor memories. A meeting is scheduled for next Tuesday at City Hall to discuss plans and solicit ideas from members.
