Clifton Dedication Set For New Central Texas School Plant
The Citizens of Clifton will dedicate the new school plant in Central Texas this Sunday. The Works Progress Administration funded project costs about 125000 and includes 21 study halls a cafeteria home economics rooms library and four offices. Open house runs from 8:00 to 6:00 with speakers including Baylor University president and state education officials among the invited attendees.

Public School Opens Monday at Clifton
Clifton welcomes a new $125,000 building as the public school opens Monday with about 625 students anticipated. High school enrollment draws from Clifton and nearby rural districts Mores, Turkey Creek, Cooper Peña, Canter Hill, Smith Bend and Boon Creek. Superintendent W. C. Braghear leads a faculty including Kent Appleby as high school principal and James Linkin as athletic coach. New departments in Industrial Arts and Public Speaking expand offerings, with Miss Allie Bronstad in English and John L. Gorloff handling vocational agriculture.

Funeral services for R. Rogstad 188, longtime Cranfills Gap resident, were held in Cranfills Gap after a home service. Born September 26, 1857, he lived on the Rostad homestead near Cranfills Gap before moving to town two years ago. Survived by three sons Alfred of Waco D C of Cranfills Gap J Rogstad of Dallas and three daughters Mrs W Shirley Mrs John Bryn Nora Rogstad Corsicana, and wife Mrs Rogstad who died a few months ago. The community extends sympathy to the bereaved family.

Allotments Announced for Bosque County Wheat Growers
Ward C. Main, vice chairman of the Bosque County ACA Committee, announced that county wheat growers have been notified of 1941 wheat allotments. Operators without a 1941 wheat allotment who intend to sow wheat should request a new-grower allotment by October 6, 1940. If new-grower allotments are set but the farm does not grow wheat, the allotment is cancelled.

Clifton College to Offer Civil Pilot Training Program
Clifton College plans a civil pilot training program with support from locals and the Lions Club. Applications have been submitted and await the Administration of Civil Aeronautics decision. An airport site and instructor are secured, with a hangar to be provided pending federal approval.

Fourteen FFA boys plan to show at the Central Texas Fair next week with entries from Clifton Iredell Valley Mills and Walnut Springs. Dor othy Locke daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A G Locke of Thompson to H J Freeman son of Mr. and Mrs. J F Freeman of Kilgore Texas.
