Dr and Mrs B B Stewart hosted a city gathering Monday evening at Meridian Lake. Mille Stewart led preparations for four meats goat chicken beef pork and sauce and drinks were freely served. Guests praised the hosts for a splendid dinner and their hospitality in a warm social event.

J D Sherwood aged Bosque rancher out northeast of Valley Mills for more than fifty years was found dead in bed at his ranch home Wednesday morning. Funeral services were held at Hay Mills Thursday. He survived by a son Pat Sherwood of Gateeville and a daughter Mrs E A Hinton of Valley Mills, plus one other daughter.
