Work begins Monday September 19th as Tucker's Variety Store lists school supplies including pencils, ink, rulers, and holders. A show window contest offers a girl prize of $3 toilet water or a $9.09 doll, and a boy prize of $68 football or $41.60 baseball plus a $1.50 bat. draw date is Wednesday.
W D Raley reports Clifton Public School will open Monday morning with a teacher meeting at 1 o clock in the Tech grade room. Pupils enter at 10 welock for registration and routine class work. State textbooks clearance cards must be shown. Opening exercises occur Monday night at City Hall at 8. Public invited as new equipment and desks enhance the school. About twenty young men have begun pre season prep under Coach M E Jones as Clifton High School readies strong teams.
The Clifton scene opens the week with a community gathering led by Pastor Maples of the Baptist church. Mrs Warey Wemash and Miss Josephine Hanne, both of the city, hosted the wedding of Cornwall Solberg of Clifton to George Anderson of Casper Wyoming at dusk on Wednesday at the Lutheran church. Arch Nelson stood with Solberg as usher, while the couple exchanged rings in a twilight ceremony officiated by the bride’s pastor.

Special Correspondent reports Emma Golden died Friday after an appendicitis operation. Her body was brought to her son Rev. Evans in Compton then transported to Waco for burial at a family cemetery. A Texas Louisiana Power Company representative, L Smith, and companion Troy escape serious injury when Smith's Buick coupe overturns on Broadway two miles south of Clifton at noon after a tire blowout. The watch valued at $20 was found in debris. no insurance claim mentioned. Both men left with minor scrapes.
William Howard of Cleburne and Eddie Parks of Clifton were married Thursday evening in Delian. Rev. William M. Anderson officiated at First Presbyterian, in a ceremony welcomed by Clifton relatives who praised the couple and wished them well as they begin life together. The bride, daughter of Mr and Mrs Paris, has long been a Clifton favorite and recently graduated from Clifton High School. The groom, a longtime resident of Clifton, has held key posts with local firms and is considered a rising young man.
