New $1.9 Million Goodall-Witcher Hospital Dedication
The 64-bed general hospital on Clifton's west edge opened with about 3 500 attendees and 2 000 signers at a Sunday dedication led by Dr. Truman G Blocker Jr president of the University of Texas Medical Branch. Guides aided long tours as 3 000 programs were printed for the event. Larry Miles of Mosheim had the first bale of cotton ginned at Roye Payne Gin in Clifton weighing 368 pounds on September 2 with Arno Dittrich the second. 18 bales were harvested and shipped by truck Tuesday.
