Texans launch honor camp at Imperial farm for convicts
Governor Neff and advisory board announce the Camp Nett Honor Farm to test a system of work without guards. About 190 convicts chosen from the Texas penitentiary system will work on catfish crops and corn at the Imperial farm starting around October 1. The camp will be white-only, with civilian officers in charge, and aims to reduce guard presence and reform prison methods across the system.

Clifton visit boosts business amid crop price talk
The region enjoys potential prosperity as favorable cotton prices could spur activity. John Hatter of Moody visited Clifton for a few hours meeting with Arch ie Price’s firm, while talks centered on relocating a successor to Mr Price in town. Drivers face dangerous conditions, with accidents reported as common as authorities warn about high speed. Farmers anticipate strong yields if drought ends, though damage from late spring heat remains a concern.
