Clifton Public School News Wins New Home Economics Teacher
The Clifton school board elected Miss Emme Dell Marrs of Austin to fill the high school home economics vacancy after Mix Freddie Link’s resignation. Marrs, UT graduate, comes endorsed by UT home economics and State Dept of Education, teaching all high school home economics classes. Also notes new state textbooks arriving, Sunday football prep at City Park with 25 athletes under Coaches Smith and Appleby, first game September 10 against Cranfills Gap High School. Clifton welcomes two new teachers Miss Marrs and Mina Nell Gilliam, with Gilliam teaching sewing and home economics skills.

Hall and family Big Spring are here visiting with relatives. Mr. Gail Bakke who lives between here and Iredell, was the first farmer to bring a bale of cotton to our Local gin this season, Friday, Sept. 2. He received a nice premium. Mr. and Mrs. Ben O. Grimland of Fort Worth spent a few minutes here with Mr. and Mrs. John Grimland last Monday evening.
