An accidental shooting involving Rice Waller occurred near Pederson Place, with Wallace and others present. The incident happened early Sunday around 4 am as Thad and others were in the area, but details remain unclear and the injured individual is reported with a foot wound.
Pederson dies after long illness at Our Savior s Lutheran Norse Weveeday afternoon Rev Perry Sampson officiated at the Norse service on Sept 3. 1946. he served in the Navy as a Fireman during World War I and later lived in Leo Creek area. He was born in Seen Seyot in 18ST and moved with his family to Bosque County in 1907. A veteran, he passed away at the hospital in Legion Texas with many relatives and local mourners present at the church and graveside.

An accidental shooting occurred last Friday near Walnut Springs when a rider was struck in the rear by a gun discharged by a man identified as Denny. The injured party, about 15 years old, was en route with McCarty, who witnessed the event. Authorities are investigating the incident and note the shooting happened a few miles from Walnut Springs.
The Presbyterian Church of Oilsly announces their new pastor and his wife to begin services on Expt and Sundays monthly in Oilsly and Turnersville locations. Rev and Mrs Smith are veteran missionaries with time in Japanese occupied areas. Since returning to America they served at Jago Federated Church Wharton County and Servod Presbyterian Palestine Texas. The Smiths have sons Cecil Jr and Allen, a daughter Nellaga and Martha, and a married daughter Mrs Jo Renaldo. The community welcomes the family and invites Presbyterians to attend the second and fourth Sundays services.
Texas agriculture shows a stronger financial position, with farmers using only a quarter of available bank credit yet 552 percent of the 198,183 Texas farmers availing bank credit. Banks serving agriculture hold 267,950,000 in loans to 210,840 farmers, with 228,770,000 in farm loans outstanding on Jan 1, 1946, and 767,701,000 available for agricultural loans if needed.

Turnersville Unity Presbyterian Church marks its 75th founding anniversary with an all day event on Sunday. Rev J H Freeland of Houston and Rev K Tenny of Atlanta, grandsons of founder W E Young, participate along with Rev EO Harrell of Ppercenty Sealers Hea Eistry. Program starts at 10 am with a barbecue lunch at noon and ends about 6 pm to allow travelers to return home. General invitation extended to all.
Infant announcements list several newborns at the Goodall-Witcher Clinic Hospital. Randle Alten, son of Lin and Mrs Allen of Valley Falls, born August 27 weighing seven pounds. Roy Patterson, son of Cleo and Mrs Patterson, born August 28 weighing seven pounds three ounces. Jerry Bob Dittrich, son of Mr and Mrs E W Dittrich of Newdles California, born September 2 weighing seven pounds three ounces.
Clifton High School football training began with seven lettermen returning including captain Amos Elder and Kirby Hanne. Two daily workouts hold through the first week as new squadmen show promise, with two weeks left before the opening bout with Iredell High. co captain Dayle Hunt out due to a toe injury from an accident.
The Clifton High School cannery paused operations to ready facilities for the upcoming term. About 175 people used the cannery, processing peaches tomatoes and other items, with thousands of cans produced over six weeks. Plans call for a fall canning season to meet demand and support home garden products.
In Clifton area, A C Caraway and his wife plan to open The Circle theater this coming Wednesday. The modern venue seats 500 with air conditioning and the latest sound system. The opening feature is Shep Dent of the Hills, with shows running daily through the week and extended afternoon hours on weekends.
Mrs. B A Gatlin of Whitney was discharged after an operation on August 27 at the local hospital. She is recovering at home with family assistance and shows steady improvement.
S A Goodall of Meridian was discharged from the local hospital on September 5 after a short period of medical treatment. He is described as a machine? injured and weak, receiving care from the staff as he recuperates at home.
A combined birthday party honored Mrs. Oscar Anderson and her daughter Mrs. Belford Colwick at the Harmony Community Center on August 28. About twenty three relatives and friends attended with refreshments, a birthday cake from Mrs. Chris Olsen of Waco, and a brief devotional reading by Ophelia Arnudson.
Clifton Junior College anticipates record enrollment between 100 and 120 as classes begin. President C. Tysten cites faculty hiring challenges nationwide. Trailers arriving for utilities, Commons Building progressing, Girls Dormitory ground broken, coach Lo. Joe optimistic with 38 players reporting for football.
The rendition board in Chitton heard few individuals Wednesday as the equalization board reviewed new tax rendition figures for property. About 30 persons attended the hearing, and two clarity masters addressed several cases while officials noted most taxpayers had already accepted the figures.
On Labor Day a large group assembled at the Bronstad home for a fashion bak event in Millie Bronstad’s residence. Attendees included Mrs Morris Bronstall, Mrs Jame Brown of Fort Worth, Leroy Bronstad and son, Mr and Mrs Rall McDowell and daughters, and many others from Belleville Waco and surrounding areas.
Meehs Wirwunderthin claimed he sold his home to John Tanner and began building a new house far north of Clifton on the highway. Mr and Mrs Tanner, prominent Clifton residents, had earlier operated stores with Woott Brothers and R. E. Cox before retirement.
All 4-H girls interested in going to the Dallas State Fair should contact Wanda. The trip covers all expenses including fare to and from the fair and lunch with the office staff. The notice lists names and dates and notes the outing occurred last weekend with several local families mentioned.
