Farmers in Bosque County face severe feed and pasture shortages due to drought. The Farmers Home Administration, led by County Supervisor Robert A. Wells, offers disaster loans at 3 percent to help qualified applicants buy feed, seed, and supplies through Public Law 88. Open house for Harry Womack’s 25th anniversary to be held in Clifton.
Walnut Springs announces the birth of a son named Floyd Usiel in Clifton hospital on the 28th of 1900. Local registrar notes the new arrival and family welcomes the child.
Mr and Mrs Lawrence Tingness welcomed guests at 108 South Avenue Clifton for their silver wedding anniversary on August 25 1952. Their son and daughter Owen and David Ringness, also of Clifton, hosted the open house and marked their parents milestone alongside a third anniversary on the same date. The couple wed at Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend J K Rystad officiating and have lived in Clifton since. The late Reverend Rystad also married the parents of Mr Neland and the Neild family in the community.

Farm Bureau District Meeting scheduled for next Saturday at the Temple Hotel in Temple. Edwin Bekkeland, president of Isque County Farm Bureau, leads a program beginning at 10 a m. focusing on rural road funding state government finances national agriculture issues and Farm Bureau state membership goals for the year.
The State Highway Commission invites bids to be opened September 16 1962 in Austin for 031 miles of flexible base with no surface treatment on the new road from Morgan to Imball Bridge at the Brazos River Plans and specifications are at the Texas Highway Department Clifton office. Contractor Fred Hart reports progress on the new highway from Brazos River toward Cleburne.
Former residents of Bunya County now living in Austin plan their annual reunion at 1:30 Sunday afternoon September 1 in the Rock Garden in Wilker Park. Contact Mrs. Forest Weilmaker at 20118 or Mrs. M C McCorkle at 530572 for details and bring a basket lunch to share.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. O. B. Rewsing were given to the Trinity Lutheran Church building fund by family members including Ole Muse and others. The report notes relatives visiting from Colorado Springs and Fairbanks, with various names and relations cited amid holiday gatherings and travel details.
The Gap School will begin Monday September 8 with Cecil A. Nix as superintendent and math teacher. A list of teachers includes Paul Allen, George M. Fowler, Charles E. Bloodmobile crews organized by JM Hronstad and Jodie Amundson recruit donors in Clifton and surrounding areas for a September blood drive at the First Baptist Church. Volunteers from numerous local clubs coordinate donor signup, typing, and post donation rewards as they target 250 signups and about 200 to 225 qualified donors.
Thursday morning auction results show Milling Wheat at 210 a bushel and Feed Wheat at 1.85. No 2 Barley 1.25, No 1 Eggs 206 per dozen, pullet eggs 20 cents, no. 2 eggs 20 cents, poultry demand weak. Local hens and fryers priced around 14 cents per pound for eight pound birds.
