State eyes tax bills and pension funding in coming session
Lawmakers consider two main items: a federal wage tax pass through to fund unemployment insurance and a plan to raise revenue for pensions. Officials expect liquor tax revenue to cover some pension costs but not enough for the full session. A special session, costing about 150000, could bring back about 70 former lawmakers and add new members from Texarkana and Seguin.
