A student pageant event titled a style show demonstrated student fashion and fundraising. About 94 attendees viewed outfits including gowns and accessories while co operators aided. Total expenditure $274.10 covered by the college and sponsors.
Walter Leaguers hosted a Sunday gathering inviting Malone guests for an afternoon and evening of horseshoes and social fellowship. Rev. G A Obenhaus pitched. a picnic at Mermaid Pool followed. Camp Gaea Del Mar La Porte hosted a Walther League Camp August 17 22 with Bobby Obenhaus winning Junior Termin Tour springwater cup.
A farm residence owned by Rex Beandes in Cayote Community burned after a lightning strike. The Potter family, then in a field, survived though their belongings were destroyed. neighbors and locals noted the stove melted and the blaze destroyed the home. Insurance was carried. A passerby from Albany aided in the aftermath.
Freddie Link has returned to Jeliton to present homemaking classes and a home economics program for adults. The notice calls for community participation with a planned two week schedule of sessions and demonstrations in Clifton and nearby areas.

A large crowd gathered in the Cranfills Gap school auditorium Monday to celebrate the opening. The program included invocation by Rev. Jim Farmer, performances by Mrs. P. Bronstad and Miss Walton, a welcome address by Supt. Homer Bronstad, and talks by J. Lodwick and A. J. Bailey.
Hubert O. Dittrich 42 died Wednesday at Baptist Sanitarium Waco after an appendectomy complication. A Clifton area resident active in American Legion and church work, he married Louise Knust in 1928 and leaves a widow, Arno and parents in Clifton. Funeral at home and Womack Church with interment in Clifton cemetery.
A Methodist gathering in Gatesville is set for Wednesday with focus on church unity and mission. Church leaders from the regional conference will discuss plans and activities for the coming year.
The Clifton Lions Club discussed hosting a Ladies Night next month after the two big announcements. Members noted progress on the new Clifton fair building with $580 in cash premiums and planned entertainment and a dove-based luncheon at Ly park.
Roy Lovelady age 01 died at his Mexia home last Saturday. Body brought to Clifton for interment beside his infant died years ago. Survived by wife and several relatives. services led by Rev. G B Kendall in Clifton. Family and friends from Mexia and Waco attended.
