Modern crafts fade as trades vanish from village life
In a nostalgic sketch the author laments the loss of traditional craftsmen from village life. Handwork declines as moderns rely on machines, with few remaining smiths, coopers, wheelwrights, and cobblers. The piece recalls names tied to old trades and notes a shift toward specialists in a modern era. It also advertises a devotional meeting and a church program led by local figures.
