TNMP seeks 10.9 percent rate rise to boost reliability
Texas-New Mexico Power filed with the Public Utility Commission of Texas for a 10.9 percent rate increase aiming to fund about 160 million dollars in system investments over five years and vegetation management to improve reliability. The proposal would lift annual revenue by roughly 20.1 million and raise the average residential bill by under 10 dollars monthly. some customer groups could see decreases to reflect costs. If approved, new rates would start March 1, 2011, with decisions due within 185 days of filing, and many customers may not see the change until they renew their Retail Electric Provider contracts.
