Tragic Waco Area Auto Crash Claims Clifton Leader
Joe Alton Hix 32, Clifton civic leader, was killed when his car collided head on with a second vehicle on Highway 67 near Valley Mills. John Pounds, a Clifton high school athlete, and Otho Martin of Hico were seriously injured. Roy Smith and Alton Sharp of Waco were riding in the other car. Interment followed at Valley Mills Cemetery after services in Clifton.
