Waite Speaks on Lions Camp For Children
Clifton Lions Club learned more about the Lions Camp for Handicapped Children during a meeting on Oct 13. Diane Waite from Lions Camp led a game to explain the Kerrville program, and Lions Jerry David and Jim Gibbons led teams as questions sparked ideas to broaden local attendance. The camp, founded in 1949, marks its 60th anniversary this year and offers free attendance to eligible children ages 7 to 16 during five weeks for handicapped attendees and two weeks for those with type 1 diabetes. Clifton has supported the camp for 28 years, serving hotdogs to campers and staff with neighboring clubs.
