More than 200 visitors attended a Bosque Memorial Museum event in Clifton on Sunday October 15 for the introduction of The Lady With The Pen a history book from Elise Warenskjold letters published by the Norwegian-American Historical Association. Notables including Dr Theodore C Blegen and Lionel G Thorsness spoke about preserving historical material and funding challenges.

Mrs. Ben Harris of Valley Mills Dies at 77
Mrs. Luella Oswald Harris died at Clifton hospital after a heart condition. She was born August 5, 1884, near Clifton, married to Ben Harris on January 23, 1907, and lived on farms around Clifton and Valley Mills. Survived by husband and three sons Tomie Joe Percy Earl and Baby with one son Percy Earl deceased. She was active in the Church of Christ and valued family life.

Clifton High Cubs escaped with a 13 to 6 win over Hubbard Friday night. Hubbard outgained Clifton 234 to 184 yards and earned more first downs 11 to 7 but two Smoky Kettler runs and a Larry Pullin 34 yard sprint set up Clifton’s touchdowns. Hubbard’s early pressure stalled as Clifton finally moved to take the district win.
