Barbecue plans highlighted at Bosque Rotary Program
Rotary program speaker Tom Henderson outlined the National Championship Barbecue Cookoff in Meridian and Bosque County. He noted NCBC roots since 1987, land donations for a Community Center, judging chair Kristi Kuykendall, and preparations including a pavilion and 45 electrical hookups. Henderson cited $75,000 donated to local groups and $23,000 in scholarships since 2002, with about 150 teams expected, a 5K on Oct 23, and a parade past the courthouse square at 10 a.m.
