Mammoth 725 Pound Cow Arouses County Demonstration Figures
A 725 pound cow, driven to Clifton by clever planning involving Mr. and Mrs. Craig Logan and local county and home demonstration agents, was butchered and stored. Roy W. Snyder from A and M College led a meat cutting demo with Elmo V. Cook, C. Snell, and C. E. Nelson, producing 273 cans of roasts, steak, meat loaf, stew, chili and soup valued at about 109.20. Central Texas Fair Preparations Under Way in Clifton
The Central Texas Fair Committee plans Clifton’s biggest fair with a long parade and stock, poultry, and farm exhibits. Polled Hereford cattle from Keller and many livestock judges from Fort Worth and College Station will oversee beef, dairy, swine, sheep, and goat classes. The event runs November 19 to 21, 1931, with premium lists and entry blanks obtainable from Secretary D. C. Helverson.

The Baptists Beginners class children totaling 20 were entertained at Mrs. Ralph Thompson's home. Doris and her mother greeted them, games were played, and a blue themed dining set with bonbons, ice cream, cake, and suckers followed. Many Exhibits at Mustang Fair
The Mustang Community held its second annual fair at the Mustang schoolhouse on October 6 1931 after a county meeting where Mr Cook County Agent urged a community fair. Exhibits filled livestock poultry and agricultural divisions judged by Nelsen Hamilton County and Harris from Lubbock Tech. Women served dinners to fund the fair with leftovers to PTA. The Meridian Luncheon Club attended and invited exhibits to Meridian Poultry Show later in October. Awards listed include Jersey Hereford Sheep Poultry and Goat divisions with multiple firsts and seconds, plus single livestock entries and tattooing demonstration by Mr Cook.
