Meridian man leads police on two county chase ends in Clifton
Michael Crawford, 33, led Waco police and deputies on a high speed pursuit from Waco through Bosque County to Clifton, after slashing Diana Crawford and another man with a box cutter. He forced his wife into his loaded 18 wheeler, left her at Providence Hospital, then fled toward his parents' Meridian home before being captured in Clifton. Crawford faces multiple charges including aggravated assault and kidnapping.

West Shore residents are invited to bring junk and debris to the disposal site at the old ball field in Laguna Park near Whitney Dam on Saturday October 9. The site opens at 8 a.m. and closes at 4 p.m. No pesticides oils solvents asbestos or bulky construction waste accepted. Tires under 20 inches and batteries may incur a small recycling fee. Volunteers will direct unloading and assist with sorting. Proceeds support the West Shore Civic Association and local public services.
